Srinagar: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a weather advisory predicting intermittent rain and snowfall across Jammu and Kashmir from March 1 to 12, with varying intensity.
According to the forecast, the region is expected to witness generally cloudy weather on March 1-2, with light rain or snow likely at isolated places during the late night of March 2. A more significant spell is expected on March 3, bringing light to moderate rain and snowfall to most places, while higher reaches in North and Central Kashmir may receive moderate to heavy snowfall.
Following this, dry weather is predicted from March 4-9, before another spell of rain and snow is expected between March 10-12.
Authorities have urged tourists, travelers, and transporters to adhere to administrative and traffic advisories.
Farmers have been advised to suspend irrigation and other field activities until March 4. The advisory also warns of potential landslides, rockfall, and shooting stones in vulnerable areas, urging residents to avoid steep slopes and avalanche-prone zones while following safety bulletins issued by the Directorate General of Relief and Emergency.
