“J&K Police should now prioritise safeguarding citizen rights”: Amit Shah

Directs full implementation of 3 new laws by April 2025

Srinagar: In a significant statement, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that Jammu & Kashmir Police should now prioritise safeguarding citizen rights after making significant progress in controlling terrorism and improving security conditions.

In a post on X, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that J&K police should now safeguard citizen rights.

Shah said that he reviewed implementation of three new criminal laws in J&K and directed their full implementation in UT by April 2025.

The meeting was attended by LG Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, top officials of the Union Home Minister, J&K Home Secretary and J&K DGP—(KNO)
