IGP Jammu chairs key meeting, stresses ‘proactive,tech-driven approach to enhance security and Crime prevention’

Jammu : Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, led a high-level meeting with senior officers to discuss improvements in policing, intelligence gathering, and strengthening the Special Operations Group (SOG).

News agency KINS reported that held at the Zonal Police Headquarters, the meeting focused on using advanced technology to tackle security threats more effectively.

IGP stressed the need to adopt modern tools such as surveillance systems, data analytics, and artificial intelligence to improve intelligence gathering and response times.

He also highlighted plans to upgrade the SOG with better training and equipment to handle high-risk operations, and organized crime.

“Security challenges are evolving, and we must innovate to stay ahead,” he said, emphasizing the need for proactive law enforcement.

The IGP called for stronger coordination between intelligence agencies and regular training programs for officers to stay updated on crime prevention and counterterrorism techniques.

Senior officers were assigned the task of creating a detailed plan for these initiatives, focusing on a tech-driven approach to improve security.

The meeting also covered strategies to boost community policing and public participation in maintaining law and order.

IGP urged officers to balance technology with human intelligence to create a safer environment for Jammu’s residents.
