CS administers oath to Officers on 15th National Voters’ Day

Jammu: On the eve of the 15th National Voters’ Day today an oath-taking ceremony was held at Civil Secretariat here in which Chief Secretary,  Atal Dulloo administered oath to the officers and officials including the Administrative Secretaries of the UT.

The officials vowed that they being citizens of India take oath on keeping firm faith on democracy and strive for the independent, impartial and peaceful election and will cast their votes fearlessly irrespective of religion, community and language.

This Year’s Theme “Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure” is similar to last year. It highlights the significance of voters to participate in the electoral process independently without any fear or favour on the basis of religion, race or language.

Moreover, 25th January is the foundation day of the Election Commission of India (ECI) which came into existence in 1950 and 2025 marks the 75th year of its existence. This day was first celebrated in 2011 to encourage young voters to take part in the electoral process

The Election Commission’s main objective is to increase the enrolment of the voters especially the youngsters who had recently attained eligibility at the age of 18 years or more.
