For the second consecutive day, Union Home Secretary chairs high-Level meeting in SKICC Srinagar

Srinagar  : For the second consecutive day, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan led a high-level meeting at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, focusing on Jammu and Kashmir’s security and development agenda.

News gathering agency KINS reported that in the afternoon today, the Home Secretary led a high- level meeting which was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, along with top officials from security forces, civil administration.

Sources said that the meeting reviewed the progress of centrally sponsored flagship schemes, infrastructure development projects, and employment initiatives in the region.

The meeting also touched upon the region’s tourism potential and how peace and development could boost this vital sector.

Before returning to New Delhi, the Home Secretary was expected to assess the implementation of these key projects.

Speaking about today’s agenda, a senior official told KINS, “The focus was on ensuring that centrally sponsored schemes directly benefit the people of Jammu and Kashmir and contribute to the region’s overall development and stability.”

In a prior meeting, Govind Mohan urged security agencies to adopt a balanced approach—fostering community relationships while taking firm action against terror.

“A holistic strategy that combines people-friendly measures with uncompromising counter-terrorism efforts is essential for a terror-free Jammu and Kashmir,” he stated.

The previous day’s meeting brought together an array of senior officials, including IB Director Tapan Kumar Deka, NIA Director Sadanand Vasant Date, DG BSF Daljit Singh Chaudhary, CRPF DG Anish Dayal Singh, and J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat, among others. The attendees also included top military leaders such as GOC 15 Corps Lt Gen Prashant Srivastav and GOC 16 Corps Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva.
