Winter Carnival Pahalgam to held on Jan 02 evening

50-70% hotels packed, expecting better tourism flow next year: Official

Pahalgam : The J&K Tourism department has decided to celebrate Winter Carnival Pahalgam on January 02 evening to attract more tourists to the picturesque destination in the Valley.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the winter carnival Pahalgam will be held at Pahalgam club from 4 pm on January 02 and it is expected to witness a good gathering with an aim to attract tourists in all seasons.

He said that the function is expected to attract tourists, locals and all stakeholders, adding that the government wants to keep this world famous tourist destination vibrant.

He said at Carnival, Kashmiri cuisine along with Handicrafts will be promoted so that the people will come to know about the unique things that are available in Kashmir only.

“We are expecting a vibrant winter next year. After the recent snowfall, we are expecting a huge number of tourist footfall at the place,” he said, adding that “right now, we have a good number of tourists in Pahalgam as 50-70 per cent of hotels with proper heating arrangements are packed,” he said, adding that all the stakeholders of Pahalgam are ready to welcome the tourists.

“For new tourists, we are ready with passion and enthusiasm so that they give us the opportunity to serve them in a better way, he said while urging tourists to visit here and experience the atmosphere, natural beauty, hospitality of the locals and cuisine—(KNO)
