SMC steps up snow clearance operations in Srinagar to ensure smooth connectivity

Priority roads cleared, we are actively working to clear all roads in Srinagar: SMC Commissioner

Srinagar : The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has intensified its snow clearance operations across the city following recent snowfall.

Efforts are being made to ensure that essential routes and internal road links remain accessible.

Commissioner Owais Ahmed as per news gathering agency KINS said, “Since yesterday, our main teams have been deployed, and both our personnel and machinery are working tirelessly to clear the snow on Srinagar roads. Priority roads have already been cleared, and we are actively working to clear all roads in Srinagar.”

He said that to handle the heavy snow, the SMC has deployed approximately 40 snow clearance machines.

“Special focus has been placed on critical routes, particularly those leading to hospitals and other essential areas. Additionally, internal road links are being cleared manually by the corporation’s teams to ensure smooth access for residents”.

He said that the administration remains committed to minimizing disruptions caused by the weather. The Commissioner assured that all resources are being utilized to restore normalcy in Srinagar at the earliest.
