Four Drug Peddlers Arrested, Contraband Substances Recovered: Police

Srinagar : Srinagar Police have arrested 4 drug peddlers and recovered contraband/psychotropic substances from their possession.

In a Statement issued to Asian Mail, a police official said that a Police party of PS Kralkhud intercepted a vehicle (Etios) bearing registration number JK01AH-5637 at a checkpoint established at Kralkhud Chowk.

He said that the duo have been identified as Nadeem Shafi Kashani, Son of Mohd Shafi Kashani, Resident of Sathoo Payeen Barbarshah and Ashiq Ahmed Hundoo, Son of Late Gh Rasool Handoo, Resident of Abi-Karpora Dalgate A/p Hamdania Colony Bemina.

He further said that the  4 grams of Heroin was recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.

Meanwhile,in another incident a Police party of Police Station Safakadal arrested two drug peddlers at a checkpoint established within their jurisdiction. They have been identified as Nabeel Showkat Zargar, Son of Showkat Aziz Zargar, Resident of Safakadal Haftayarbal and Shahriyar Ahmad Mir, Son of Mir Ishfaq Ahmad, Resident of Rathpora Eidgah.

During the search, 11 bottles of Codeine Phosphate & 30 strips of Tapentadol (banned drugs) have been recovered from their possession.

In  this regard cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated, reads the statement.
