Snowfall at Kashmir’s famous resorts brings chill with thrill for tourists

Srinagar, Nov 30 :The season’s first snowfall in Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonamarg tourist resorts has brought a festive atmosphere to Kashmir as tourists from all over enjoy the beauty of the winter season.
Light snow in Pahalgam and heavier snowfall in Gulmarg and Sonamarg has transformed these iconic destinations into picturesque winter landscapes, attracting visitors eager to experience Kashmir’s snowy charm.
Rohit, a tourist from Delhi, expressed his excitement, saying, “We have been waiting for this for days and it’s even more magical than we expected. The snow here is so pristine, and it feels like being in a different world. It’s an unforgettable experience.”
In Gulmarg, which is famous for its skiing, tourists are already hitting the slopes. Sania Sharma, a tourist from Mumbai, shared her thrill: “This is my first time skiing, and I’m so glad I came during the first snowfall. It’s such a unique experience to ski with snowflakes falling around you. It feels like a dream come true.”
For many, the snow is not just about winter sports but about taking in the majestic beauty of the snow-covered mountains.
In Sonamarg, trekkers and nature lovers have also started arriving to explore the trails, which are now blanketed with snow. Amir Khan, a trekking enthusiast from Lucknow, said, “Sonamarg is always beautiful, but the snowfall adds an extra layer of adventure. Trekking through the snow-covered paths is something I have always dreamed of. It’s as challenging as it is beautiful.”
Despite the cold temperatures and power cuts, the early snow has boosted winter tourism, with local businesses benefiting from the increased foot traffic. Many visitors are buying warm clothes and sipping hot beverages to stay cozy while they explore the winter landscape. The charm of the first snowfall, combined with the activities it brings, has certainly set the tone for a busy and vibrant winter season in Kashmir.(News Vibes of India)
