My Heart Beats with People of Kashmir, I’ll Make Any Sacrifice for Their Rights: Er Rashid Before Returning to Tihar

Srinagar: Member of Parliament North Kashmir, Er Rashid on Monday said that his heart beats with the people of Kashmir and that he’ll make any sacrifice for their rights.

Speaking to the media outside Tihar Jail before surrendering after a one-and-a-half-month interim bail, Rashid said that
he is committed to the dignity and rights of people of Kashmir.

Rashid urged all stakeholders, including India and Pakistan, to come to the table for open discussions, stressing that lasting peace in Kashmir depends on genuine dialogue. “We seek peace, not by bowing our heads, but by holding them high. Dialogue is the only path forward,” he said, as per Kashmir news Service(KNS), Correspondent Delhi.

He said that there should be an end to the violence that has affected countless lives. The lives lost from soldiers to civilians are a heavy toll that demands a dignified and collaborative solution, he said.

People of Kashmir should stand strong, Rashid said, adding that the struggle for dignity and equality would continue. “To Kashmiris, I say: don’t lose hope. Justice will prevail.”

He said that the recent meetings between Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the central government, must ultimately serve the people’s interests.(KNS)
