Bingo! partners with Kashmir’s biggest music event – Fankar-E-Kashmir 2024 as title sponsor

The winners be rewarded with the cash prizes of INR 25,000, runner ups will receive cash prize of INR 15,000 and every participant will be awarded INR 2,000

Srinagar, October 25th, 2024: ITC Bingo!, is delighted to partner withFankar-E-Kashmir as title sponsor, an exciting initiative aimed at preserving and promoting the folk and Sufiana music traditions of Kashmir while creating opportunities for the region’s youth to enter the mainstream music and cultural industries. This event will take place on October 26th, 2024, at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC), Srinagar.

Kashmir’s music, which is steeped in centuries-old traditions influenced by Persian, Sufi and Central Asian cultures, faces the risk of fading away. Fankar-E-Kashmir aims to combat this by offering young artists a platform to showcase their talent, gain recognitionand celebrate their heritage. Bingo!’s involvement in this event reinforces its commitment to supporting local artisans and promoting opportunities for emerging artists.

The event includes a Live Talent Hunt Music Contest, workshops on intellectual property rights and sound technology and a grand finale performance by a renowned artist. The winners will be awarded cash prizes of INR 25,000 for the first place, INR 15,000 for the runner-up and INR 2,000 for all participants. The winner will also have the extraordinary opportunity to become a “Bingo! artist,” where Bingo! will produce and promote their original song for Bingo! Tedhe Medhemusic video.

Speaking about the event, Mr. Suresh Chand, VP, Head of Marketing Snacks, Noodles and Pasta, ITC Foods., said, “ITC has a long and rich tradition of supporting our nations’ musical heritage with the ITC Sangeet Research Academy. We are working on developing interesting regional musical content for our brands, such as Bingo! Tedhe Medhe and Bingo! Mad Angles. We are proud to be a part of this exciting event which celebrates the musical tradition of Kashmir and provides a platform for the youth of the region to showcase their talent

The event is organized in collaboration with ShowCase Events, The Eagle, and The Rabab Academy—organizations dedicated to conserving and promoting India’s rich folk music traditions. With an eminent jury comprising legendary Kashmiri musicians Gulzar Ganaie, Ustad Abdul Rashid Hafiz and Noor Mohammad, the event is set to be a remarkable celebration of culture and talent.

Angelina Fernandes, Founder, The Eagle, said, “I have been closely working with multilingual national and international award-winning artists and my curiosity for Kashmiri talent brought me on to be passionately involved with Fankar-E-Kashmir”.

Nazir Ganaie, Music Journalist and founder of The Rabab Academy says,“Being a Kashmiri myself and a musician, I feel for our dying art and want to  help with initiatives such as this to conserve it”. Workshops will be held from 10:00 AM onwards, followed by the live talent hunt contest from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, culminating in the grand finale performance. The event promises to be an unforgettable experience, filled with music, learning, and celebration.
