Kulgam police arrests two drug peddlers, Contraband substance recovered Cash amount of ₹7750 seized

January 09: Acting tough against the drug dealings , Police in Kulgam have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession, besides, cash amount of ₹7750 was also seized.

Officers at a checkpoint established at Laisoo crossing area of PS DH Pora intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No. DL3C-AK1304 with two persons on board. They have been identified as Jahangir Ahmad Das and Mohammad Saleem Das both residents of Waghama Bijbehara. During checking, officers were able to recover 1.5 kgs of Charas like substance from their possession. Officers have also seized cash amount of ₹7750 from them. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station DH Pora where they remain in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 03/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station D H Pora and further investigation has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
