CM Omar Visits Family of Slain Doctor Shahnawaz

Omar Abdullah to bear education expenses of Budgam doctor’s son: MLA Khansahib

Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Tuesday visited the family of slain doctor Shahnawaz, who was one of the seven people killed in a terrorist attack in the Gagangir area of Sonamarg, Ganderbal district, on Sunday night.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, was accompanied by his advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Khansahib Saif-ud-din Bhat and others to Naidgam village in Budgam, the native village of slain doctor Shahnawaz, and offered condolences to his family.

 

Speaking with reporters Saif-ud-din Bhat said that Omar Abdullah expressed solidarity with the family and also conveyed to Dr Shahnawaz; son that he will bear all education expenses.

Shahnawaz, designer Sushant Abrol, and six laborers were killed on Sunday evening while returning to their camp in Gund, when terrorists attacked a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh national highway.
Five others injured in the attack are being treated at SKIMS hospital in Srinagar.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said, “Full freedom has been given to the police, army, and security forces,” and assured the public that those responsible for this despicable act will not go unpunished.—(News Vibes of India)
