Snowfall in Upper Reaches, Rain in Plains: MeT

Srinagar: The Meteorological Department has predicted light snowfall in the upper reaches of the Kashmir Valley and light to moderate rains in the plains.

In its advisory, the department has asked farmers to continue operations in their farms and threshing floors, while tourists have been advised to plan according to the weather on October 24 and 25, especially at the upper reaches.

The MeT Official said that there is a possibility of rain in the valley on October 16 and 17. He said that from the evening of October 16 to the morning of October 17, light snowfall or light rain is expected at some places in the upper areas of Kupwara, Bandipora and Ganderbal districts.

He said that the weather in the valley may remain cloudy on October 18 and 19, while the weather is likely to remain dry on October 20 to 22. The MeT Official said that later in the valley, light to moderate rains are expected in the plains from October 23 to 25, while light snowfall is expected in the upper areas.
