Shopian, Jan 6, KNT: A man in South Kashmir died after his family members failed to shift him to hospital in the nick of time due to no road connectivity in wake of the accumulated snow on the roads.

Sources told news agency KNT that an ailing person identified as Bashir Ahmad Famda son of Abdul Rehman, a resident of Batafujan Keller area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district developed some complications.

The family members failed him to shift to nearby Keller Hospital of Shopian due to massive accumulation of snow on the road. The relatives and some locals carried the ailing man on cot but on way the man breathed his last.

“If road would have been through, we could have availed the service of an ambulance or a vehicle, but unfortunately, snow has not been cleared on the Keller roads yet and we lost a member in the family,” said a relative of the deceased.

Pertinently, in higher reaches of Shopian, snow is still accumulated on the roads and people are finding it difficult to reach to hospitals and markets. (KNT
