Ready to support NC-Congress alliance : Naeem Akhtar

Srinagar: Ahead of tomorrow’s vote counting for the J&K Assembly elections 2024, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senior leader Nayeem Akhtar said the party is ready to support a Congress-NC alliance if needed.

“We are ready to support the NC-Congress if needed,” Akhtar told the news agency—Kashmir Bulletin (KB), here.

He said, “Yes, we are ready to support the alliance, any secular arrangement that includes Congress, as we are part of the INDIA alliance with them.”

When asked if PDP is currently in talks with Congress or National Conference, Akhtar remained tight-lipped, simply saying, “No.”

J&K Assembly elections were held in three phases, with vote counting scheduled for tomorrow. Congress had earlier stated that doors are open for like-minded parties to join the alliance.
