Srinagar: The Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid has announced that the restrictions on Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Umar Farooq, which had been in place since September 2, have been lifted.
In a statement issued to Asian mail, Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid informed that authorities have conveyed this decision today, allowing the Mirwaiz to resume his religious duties.
It is said that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will deliver his first Friday sermon at the historic Jama Masjid, Srinagar after four weeks.
