Police Expedite Investigation to Trace Out Missing Srinagar Man, Woman

Srinagar: After alleged disappearance of a Srinagar man and a woman at Aharbal, Gurwatan in south Kashmir and the former’s vehicle found abandoned at the spot, police have been doubling up its efforts to trace out the missing duo.

A police officer from Hurpora police station told the news agency CNS that they are pulling out all the stops to find the missing man, Adil Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad Sofi, a resident of Rainawari Naidyar Srinagar and the girl who was with him.

He said that the missing man’s vehicle besides a shoe and socks were found at the spot from where both are suspected to have been missed.

At the preliminary stage of the investigation, the police officer ruled out a suicide angle in the case and said that bodies would have been stopped by a barrier erected at some 200 meters away from the spot.

“We are investigating the case through every possible angle at the moment and are doing our best to not be misled by anything,” the police officer said.

Meanwhile, Manzgam police are also investigating the case on humanitarian grounds although the matter is not falling in their remit.

To facilitate the tracing out of the missing man and woman, police have appealed to the general public to inform them in case they know the whereabouts of the missing persons.
