Kupwara Police Bust Counterfeit Gold Biscuit Trade, Arrest Three

Kupwara: As a major operation, Kupwara Police have disrupted an illegal trade of counterfeit gold biscuits, arresting three individuals. Acting on a tip-off, Police Station Lalpora carried out the raid on 12 September 2024.

“The arrested suspects have been identified as Bashir Ahmad Khan, Rayaz Ahmad War, and Noor Mohammad Lohar, all residents of Dever Lolab, Kupwara,” reads a statement.
It reads as, during the operation, 153 fake gold biscuits were recovered from their possession. The suspects reportedly confessed to their involvement in the illegal trade.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered under FIR No. 61/2024 at Police Station Lalpora, and further investigations are ongoing. Authorities have stated that more arrests may follow as the probe deepens.
