Bear Attack Leaves 38-year-old Man Seriously Injured in Kulgam, Hospitalized

Kulgam: A life of 38-year-old man was left to hang in the balance when he was attacked by a wild bear on Saturday late afternoon in Watoo area of Arhabal in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

An official told the news agency CNS that the man identified as Nisar Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Rasool Dar, a resident of Chake Watoo Arhabal, was attacked by a bear, inflicting grave injuries on him.

“The injured was shifted to District Hospital Kulgam immediately after the attack and was treated by the doctors there. Given the serious condition of the injured, he was referred to GMC Anantnag for advanced treatment,” the official added.

The condition of the deceased was said to be critical when he was shifted to the GMC Anantnag.

It was also learnt that the injured man is currently under the care of doctors at the GMC Anantnag.
