Police Takes Cognizance Against An Individual For Assaulting His Parents in Srinagar

Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it have taken cognizance against an individual for assaulting his parents and not allowing them to enter their own home for the past one year in Srinagar.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that acting upon a written complaint of accused person’s mother namely Mst Taja Banoo wife of Gh Ahmad Wani, a criminal case FIR No. 77/2024 under section 74, 126(2), 351(2) BNS has been registered in Police Station Nowgam and investigation initiated.

The spokesman further stated that the accused individual identified as Mohd Ashraf Wani son of Gh Ahmad Wani resident of S. A. Colony, Nowgam has been brought to the police station for questioning and further investigation into the matter is in progress.

Pertinently, a video pertaining to this particular incident has been circulating on social media platforms, reads the statement.
