Rabi-al-Awwal moon not sighted: Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam

Srinagar: The grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Nasir Ul Islam on Wednesday said that the Rabi-al-Awwal moon was not sighted tonight and the sacred month will commence from Friday.

“As we welcome the blessed month of Rabi’ al-Awwal, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the entire Muslim Ummah. This is the month of immense significance in our history, as it marks the birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who was sent as a mercy to all of humanity,” he said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

“Rabi’ al-Awwal is a time of reflection and deep spiritual connection. It is an opportunity for us to renew our love and commitment to the teachings of the Prophet (peace be upon him), who exemplified the highest moral character and brought the message of peace, justice, and compassion to the world,” he said.

“Let us use this sacred month to come together as a community, to strengthen our bonds of brotherhood, and to increase our devotion to Allah (SWT). May we all strive to follow the example of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in our daily lives, and may this month bring peace, blessings, and unity to the entire Ummah,” the grand Mufti added.
