Govt, SHA assures uninterrupted treatments under Ayushman Bharat JAY SEHAT

Asks public to call toll free number 104 for assistance, emergency

Srinagar: The government Tuesday  assured an uninterrupted  treatments under Ayushman Bharat JAY SEHAT.
The statement was issued with regard to various news articles and reports regarding dialysis patients suffering due to refusal and charging of cash by private hospitals to provide treatments under the ‘Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana (ABJAY) SEHAT’.
It is informed to general public that the Insurance Company IFFCO Tokio has discontinued the implementation of the scheme with effect from 15.03.2024, due to which the EHCPs are not receiving any payments for the treatments given to the patients under the scheme.
The High Court has given a judgment that IFFCO Tokio Insurance company to implement the scheme, however so far the Insurance Company has not started implementing the scheme. The failure on the part of the Insurance Company to implement the scheme has caused great hardships to the patients, the spokesman said.
Given the situation, Government has made every effort to ensure free treatments to the patients under the scheme with the support of private EHCPs.
The Government is committed to provide best  health services to all the patients and beneficiaries of Jammu & Kashmir, the spokesman added.
The Government has already geared up its machinery to provide treatment to all the patients through its robust public hospitals, so that no patient is left without treatment.  Patients who have  issues with the denial of treatments at private EHCPs may kindly call toll free number 104 and register their names and the State Health agency (SHA)shall ensure that patients are provided treatment in the closeby Public Hospitals free of cost under the scheme.
“There is no need for the dialysis patients to panic and worry about refusal of treatment by private EHCPs under a golden card. Government of J&K assures that all patients will be provided free and timely treatment under the Golden card in EHCPs. The Government of J&K remains committed to the principles of the AB-PM JAY/SEHAT scheme, which aims to provide accessible and affordable healthcare to all. The health and well-being of citizens remain top priority, upholding the objectives of the Ayushman Bharat – Jan Arogya Yojana/SEHAT,” the government added.
Meanwhile, the patients are requested and appealed to Call 104 for further details, support and assistance.
