Anantnag: Anantnag police arrested two drug peddlers on Friday at Pehroo Curve.
In a statement issued to Asian Mail, a police team from Police Post Shairbagh set up a checkpoint, where they intercepted a vehicle with registration number DL7CJ-8332.

Upon searching the vehicle, approximately 19 kilograms of poppy straw were recovered.
He said that the two drug peddlers identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Mir S/o Ab Rehman Mir and Tariq Ahmad Mir S/o Gh Hassan, both residents of Mir Check Mattan, were taken into custody.
Meanwhile a case has been registered under FIR No. 169/2024 at Police Station Anantnag, and further investigation is underway.
