Senior leader Bashir Mir likely to be PDP’s candidate from Ganderbal

Ganderbal: Senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Bashir Ahmad Mir is likely to contest the forthcoming election from Ganderbal assembly constituency.

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has finalised candidature of Mir from Ganderbal assembly segment.

“Official announcement in this regard will be made anytime soon,” he said.

Bashir Mir contested from Ganderbal in the 2008 and 2014 elections, when he polled 12,000 and 25,000 votes, respectively. This time he will be pitted against National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah who was declared as party’s candidate on Tuesday—(KNO)
