Egypt and Iraq Unite to Address Gaza Humanitarian Crisis

Asian Mail

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani have joined forces to tackle the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza. During an official visit to Egypt, the two leaders emphasized the urgent need for international pressure to secure a lasting ceasefire and end the suffering of the Palestinian people.

They stressed that a comprehensive political solution is essential for achieving peace, security, and development in the region. The solution must guarantee the Palestinian people’s right to an independent state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

El-Sisi and Al-Sudani also highlighted the importance of intensified Arab cooperation to address the region’s crises. They praised the tripartite cooperation among Egypt, Iraq, and Jordan as a model for regional integration and pledged to continue working together to achieve their objectives.

The meeting comes amid escalating tensions in Gaza, where over 1,200 people have been killed and 252 Israelis and foreigners taken hostage since October 7. The leaders’ joint call to action aims to bring an end to the humanitarian plight in Gaza and promote lasting peace and stability in the region.
