J&K to Experience Rains and Thundershowers till September 3: MeT Department

Srinagar: The Meteorological Department has predicted that parts of Jammu and Kashmir will receive rains and thundershowers till September 3.

According to MeT official, the region can expect light to moderate rains and thundershowers at many places, especially during late night and early morning hours, from August 27 to 30.

A brief spell of rain and thundershower is also expected at isolated places from August 31 to September 1. The weather will likely remain generally cloudy with a possibility of rain and thundershowers at many places from September 2 to 3.

However, the Meteorological Department has warned of intense showers and heavy rain at isolated places in Jammu division during this period, which may lead to flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones.

In the past 24 hours, Jammu received 64.2 mm rainfall, Kathua 65.2 mm, Udhampur 64.8 mm, and Samba 53 mm. The weather is expected to remain dry from September 4 to 5.
