J&K admin has taken responsibility of collecting Independent DDC members for BJP: Omar

Srinagar, Dec 24 : Alleging that a former NC MLC was taken away by police to stop him from contacting Independent District Development Council (DDC) members in south Kashmir, former chief minister Omar Abdullah said that the ‘administration has now taken on the responsibility of trying to collect independent candidates for the BJP and it’s recently formed subsidiary’.
Mr Abdullah, who is the vice-president of National Conference (NC), further alleged that the authorities are taking the trouble to transport some of these independents to Srinagar for ‘discussions’.
“An ex-MLC of @JKNC_ from South Kashmir has been taken away by the police to stop him contacting the independent DDC members elected in his district. At the same time the authorities are taking the trouble to transport some of these independents to Srinagar for discussions,” Mr Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
“The administration has now taken on the responsibility of trying to collect independent candidates for the BJP & it’s recently formed subsidiary. It seems the government doesn’t have enough to do & has branched out in to this line of work as well,” he said.

He said, ‘BJP should refrain from trying to engineer cross-overs in its favour, especially as it has loudly declared that “democracy is the real winner’. “The @JKPAGD should use this seat at the local high table to do justice to the aspirations of the people,” he added.
