Baramulla Police Crack Down on Human Trafficking Racket

Baramulla: Police have arrested four individuals and rescued seven minor females in connection with a human trafficking racket on Monday at Baramulla District.

In a statement Police spokesperson said that they have arrested  Ghulam Mohammad Khan, son of Ab Rehman, resident of Narbal and Manzoor Ahmad Shah son of Gh Mohammad resident of Janbazpora, who were found to be involved in the trafficking and exploitation of minor girls from outside the Union Territory.

He said that the police action came after a case was registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Baramulla (FIR No. 173/2024). The initial investigation had already led to the arrest of two accused and the rescue of four minor females.

The three additional minor females rescued in the latest operation are from Rohingya, Burma. The police have ensured their safety and dignity, and the investigation is ongoing to unravel the full extent of the trafficking ring.

“We are committed to combating human trafficking and ensuring the safety and dignity of vulnerable individuals,” said a police spokesperson. “We will continue to work tirelessly to identify and prosecute those involved in such heinous crimes.”
