“We received reports of diarrhoea, loose motion, and vomiting cases in Trail village last night, and our teams immediately swung into action,” Dr. Zahoor Ahmad, Block Medical Officer (BMO), Sallar, said. “More than 60 people have been admitted to health facilities so far, and we are closely monitoring the situation.”

The exact cause of the outbreak is yet to be determined, but officials suspect unsafe or impure drinking water may be the culprit. “We are conducting tests today to ascertain the facts,” Dr. Ahmad said. “Our teams were busy during the night, but we will conduct awareness programs in the village today to educate people on the precautions they need to take.”

The affected individuals were rushed to hospitals in ambulances, and many have been referred to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sallar and Primary Health Centre (PHC) Srigufwara for treatment. “We are doing everything possible to ensure the affected people receive proper medical care,” Dr. Ahmad assured. “There is no need to panic; everything is under control.”The health department’s swift response has helped contain the situation, and villagers have been advised to take precautions to prevent the spread of the disease. “We are keeping a close eye on the situation and will take all necessary measures to prevent any further spread,” Dr. Ahmad said.
