IFS officer Asaf Mehmood appointed member JKPSC

Srinagar: Government on Wednesday appointed Asaf Mehmood Sagar, IFS, as Member of the Public Service Commission for the Jammu and Kashmir.

The 1992 AGMUT cadre officer shall hold the position of the Member, PSC, till he attains the age of sixty two years, according to a government S.O 360.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 93 of the Jammu and Kashmir Re-organization Act, 2019, read with S.O. 3937 (E) dated 31st October, 2019, and Order issued in terms of sub-clause (i) of clause (c) of the Proclamation issued by the President dated 31 October, 2019, the Lieutenant Governor of Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir is pleased to appoint Mr. Asaf Mehmood Sagar, IFS (AGMUT:1992), as Member of the Public Service Commission for the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” the order reads, adding, “He shall hold the position of the Member, Public Service Commission, till he attains the age of sixty two years.”

His appointment shall take effect from the date he assumes the office, the order added.
