Kashmir: Amarnath Yatra temporarily suspended after heavy rains

Srinagar: The Amarnath Yatra was temporarily suspended on Saturday due to heavy rainfall, officials said.

An official said that the yatra to the cave shrine was suspended as a precautionary measure in view of heavy rains on both Baltal and Pahalgam routes.

The Amarnath Yatra began on June 29 and will culminate on August 19, lasting 52 days.

As per officials, the number of devotees who have visited the cave shrine so far has crossed 1.5 lakh.
