Nuzhat Ishfaq visited Dab, Shalhar; takes first-hand appraisal of Muharram arrangements

Inspects macadamization work

Ganderbal: District Development Council Chairperson (DDC) Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq  visited Dab, Shalhar and other areas to take first-hand appraisal of Muharram-ul-Harram arrangements.

During her visit, the Chairperson interacted with prominent citizens and the Intizamiya committee for the hassle-free conduct of Majlis and processions during Muharram days.

 Special attention was given to crowd management, ensuring the smooth flow of processions.

The deputations demanded uninterrupted electricity and drinking water supply, availability of mobile gensets, availability of mobile water tanks, sanitation and garbage lifting arrangements, decongestion of traffic outside Imambara particularly during peak periods, cleaning of surroundings, etc.

On the occasion, the DDC directed all concerned to be proactive in ensuring better Muharram arrangements.

She directed the R&B department to immediately start macadamization of roads and also procession routes at the earliest.

She also asked the MC Ganderbal to ensure proper sanitation in and around Imambargahs and ensure availability of mobile toilet vans in the Central Imambara.

Moreover, the Department of Jal Shakti and PDD were asked to ensure adequate water and electricity supply with foolproof standby arrangements.

 She also instructed the Assistant Director FCS&CA to ensure the availability of ration and LPG as per the requirements during the Muharram days.

The Regional Transport Officer was directed to coordinate with the police to ensure smooth regulation of traffic.

Furthermore, the DDC Chairperson urged all concerned stakeholders to cooperate and extend their support to ensure the successful conduct of Muharram-ul-Haram events while maintaining peace and harmony in the district.

Concerned officials of all the line departments were present on the occasion.

Later, the DDC Chairperson visited Ahan to inspect ongoing macdamization work.

During the visit, the officials of the concerned department, briefed the DDC about the progress of work and said that black topping on said road is in full swing.

Nuzhat also visited Barsoo where she listened to the grievances of the people especially with regard to the roads.

 She assured the locals of upgradation and macdamization of roads.
