Dozens structures gutted in fire Incident in Anantnag

Anantnag: Dozens structures were gutted in a massive fire that broke out in Mehman Mohalla Lalchowk Anantnag midnight, officials said on Tuesday.
An official said that the fire broke out at around 2:15 AM from one of the structures, which spread to others, causing damage to the houses belonging to 12 families.

“Eight shops and a Govt. Middle school were also gutted in the fire incident,”they said.
They said the cause of the fire is being ascertained.

He said that soon after the incident, the fire tenders reached the spot to douse off the flames, however, by then, the houses had suffered huge damage.

The official said that there was no loss of life reported in the incident.
Locals urged the government to provide compensation to the affected families.

Meanwhile, Tehsildar Anantnag along with revenue officials visited the spot and assured the families of full support from the district administration
