Srinagar: A tourist has died and another was rescued after the duo was left trapped in a snow cavity at Thajwas glacier in Sonamarg.
An official told GNS that a tourist duo accidently fell into a snow cavity at the Thajwas glacier. “As the news spread, the tourists at the spot alongside the police retrieved the body of one while another trapped person was rescued and taken to a nearby hospital,” the official said.
The official identified the deceased as one Deepak Prahlad Patil, a resident of Maharashtra.
