J&K Govt Appoints 20 Police Officers for Amarnath Yatra

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced the deputation of 20 police officers to serve as Deputy Camp Directors for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.

As per the details available with Kashmir News Service (KNS), the officers have been deputed to ensure a well-organized and secure pilgrimage for the thousands of devotees expected to participate in the annual event.

The officers, upon being relieved by their Controlling Officer, are to report to the office of the Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.

The Shrine Board will be responsible for the exact deployment of these officers, who will play a crucial role in managing the various aspects of the Yatra.

During their tenure with the Shrine Board, the officers will continue to draw their salaries from their original places of posting.

They are expected to return to their respective positions immediately after the conclusion of the Yatra in 2024.

This deployment is part of the government’s efforts to ensure that the Amarnath Yatra is conducted smoothly, with a focus on the safety and comfort of the pilgrims.
