Police locate two youth from Ganderbal planning to join militancy

Ganderbal, Dec 5, KNT: Police in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district have stopped two young boys from joining militancy.

Police sources told news agency KNT that two youth from Wusan hamlet of Ganderbal had gone missing with intent to join militant ranks, however, using human and technical inputs, Ganderbal Police traced the duo and nabbed from an area in old Srinagar city.

SSP Ganderbal Khalil Poswal while confirming the incident said that both these youth were questioned in presence of their family members and they admitted they were mulling to join militancy.

“These youth were given proper counseling with the help of a Psychiatrist and other experts before being handed over to parents with the advice that their day-to-day activities will be monitored,” he said.

SSP said that parents should come forward and report any such activity of their wards in their interest. (KNT)
