Sopore: Police on Wednesday have recovered consignment of illicit timber and seized vehicle in the jurisdiction of Police Station Dangiwacha area of Sopore.
A spokesperson said, “A Police Party of Police Station Dangiwacha headed by SHO PS Dangiwacha Insp. Jan Mohammad during patrolling duty at village Bonibal Rawoocha intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no. JK05D 3903 driven by Mir Ikhlas Ahmad Abasi S/O Nazir Ahmad R/O Nowpora Hamal Rafiabad.”
“During the search, the police party recovered 10 logs of illicit timber from the vehicle, accused has been arrested, illicit timber and vehicle have been seized”, he said.
In this regard, a case under FIR No. 22/2024 under relevant sections of law in Police Station Dangiwacha has been registered and investigation has been set into motion.
