Three gamblers arrested in Baramulla; Stake money seized: Police

Baramulla: Police on Wednesday have arrested 03 gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A Police spokesperson said, “Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities in the orchards of Takiya Wagoora, a police party headed by IC PP Wagoora under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri raided the specific spot and apprehended 03 gamblers & recovered stake money of ₹2490/- & playing cards from their possession.”

“They have been identified as Irfan Ahmad Shah son of Afzal Shah, Yawar Ahmad Shah son of Mushtaq Ahmad & Riyaz Ahmad Shah son of Ghulam Rasool all residents of Takiya Wagoora. They have been shifted to PS where they remain in custody”, he said.

“Accordingly, a case FIR under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Kreeri and investigation has been initiated”, he said.
