Apni Party to field candidates in all 5 Parliamentary seats in J&K: Altaf Bukhari

Says list of candidates finalized, to be made public after ECI visit

 

Srinagar : Apni Party is all set to field candidates in all five Parliamentary constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir. The polls for Lok Sabha is likely to be held in April and May this year.

“Apni Party is a new born political outfit in J&K. Since it’s inception it was our endeavor to ease out hardships being encountered by people of the region. We hope people in length and breadth of J&K will support us and vote us in the upcoming Parliamentary elections,” Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari told KNS.

He said the party will field candidates in all five Parliamentary constituencies in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. “Yes we are ready to contest Parliamentary polls. We will field candidates from all five constituencies,” Bukhari said.

He however said that the announcement of candidates will be made public after the visit of Election Commission of India to Jammu and Kashmir. “The list has been finalized, and will be made public after the visit of ECI to Jammu & Kashmir,” Bukhari said.

“Let ECI to finish its visit to Jammu and Kashmir. The visit is aimed to ascertain the security and administrative situation ahead of LS polls. The ECI may likely to hold Parliamentary and Assembly polls simultaneously. So Apni Party will announce the list once ECI completes its visit,” he added.

Notably the Election Commission of India (ECI) is scheduled to hold a comprehensive review to assess the possibility of simultaneous conduct of Assembly elections along with Parliamentary polls in Jammu and Kashmir during its two-day visit to the Union Territory on March 12 and 13.
