Former MLC Shehnaz Ganie likely to join BJP

Srinagar: Dr Shehnaz Ganie, the former member of the Legislative Council in Jammu and Kashmir who hails from Poonch is all set to join Bharatiya Janata Party, insiders said.

Sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that Shehnaz Ganie is currently in New Delhi and has already met several top-notch BJP leaders.

They added that Shehnaz Ganie will formally join the BJP in a couple of days.

National Conference had inducted her as a member of the legislative council and in 2019 she quit the party for reasons better known to her.

“She left our party over 5 years ago. It’s wrong to say that the NC leader is mulling to join BJP,” said a National Conference leader adding that she has nothing to do with the NC.

Despite repeated attempts, Shehnaz Ganie didn’t respond to the phone calls.
