Four drug peddlers arrested in Budgam; contraband substance recovered

Budgam: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Budgam police arrested 04 drug peddlers and recovered contraband /Psychotropic substance from their possession.

A Police spokesperson said, “During routine naka checking at Wata Magam, Police party of Police station Magam intercepted one suspicious vehicle bearing registration number JK05G-2152 with three persons on board.”

During preliminary questioning they disclosed their identities as Abid Ahmad Bhat(Driver) S/0 Ab Majid Bhat, Zeeshan Ahmad Dar S/O Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Ahitsham Ashraf wani @Sahil S/O Mohd Ashraf wani, all residents of Hazarpora Aripanthan.

“During the search, a Charas-like substance in Powder form weighing about 315 grams was recovered in three polythene bags. They were arrested on the spot and the vehicle used in the Commission of Crime has also been seized”, he said.

He said, Upon disclosure by the arrested individuals, one more suspect identified as Amir Ahmed Ganiee@Raja S/O Gh Ahmad Ganiee

R/O Peth Kanihama was arrested and from his possession charas like substance in Powder form weighing about 360 grams was recovered.

A Case FIR No:13/2024 Under relevant sections of law registered at Police Station Magam and further investigation taken up.
