J&K Police nabs ex-terrorist turned absconder from Kishtwar

Jammu,: Police on Thursday arrested one former absconding terrorist nearly after 18 years from the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar district, Khalil Poswal said that a significant breakthrough has been achieved with the successful apprehension of Parvaiz Ahmed, alias Haris, an ex-militant who had eluded arrest for the past 18 years, who was wanted in a case registered at Police Station Kishtwar in 2005.

“Relying on credible information from sources, a dedicated police team led by Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday, Station House Officer, Police Station Kishtwar, executed a prompt and targeted raids on suspected locations,” said the SSP.

He said that this operation culminated in the successful arrest of the long-standing absconder, identified as Parvaiz Ahmed, residing in Hullar Kishtwar.

Poswal reiterated warnings to all absconders, urging them to surrender at the nearest police station otherwise stern action under Section 82/83 Cr. PC shall be taken against them.
