BJP fully prepared for J&K polls, will win over 50 seats: Ashok Koul

Srinagar : Bharatiya Janata Party J&K General Secretary (Org) Ashok Koul Thursday asserted that the party is fully prepared for elections in J&K and will sweep 50 plus seats in upcoming assembly polls in the UT.

He said BJP is fully prepared for elections whenever it will be conducted. “The Supreme Court has recently directed the Election Commission of India to hold assembly elections in J&K by September 30, 2024. So I would like to communicate with other political parties to gear up for elections while BJP is also fully prepared and is hopeful it will get more than 50 seats in assembly elections whenever it will take place,” BJP leader Ashok Koul as per KNS said.

He said the party is holding public outreach meets from the last three months as Parliament elections are ahead. “We have made our public outreach program strong as Parliament polls are taking place in coming times. We are reaching to every class of society particularly youth and intellectual class. This initiative will be continued in coming months as well,” Koul said.

To a query the BJP leader said that the verdict of the Supreme Court on Article 370 should be accepted by one and all. “If any political party has reservations with the verdict pronounced by SC recently on Article 370 what I can say on that. SC is a democratic institution and BJP has never ever disrespected democratic institutions of the country,” Koul added.
