Notorious Drug Peddler Arrested in Ganderbal, Contraband Substances Recovered

Ganderbal: A notorious drug peddler was arrested by police at Nagbal area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday after recovery of contraband substances.

A statement issued said that from the last few days, Police Post Nagbal received information through reliable sources that a person namely Muzzafer Ahmad Kambay son of Khazir Mohammad Kambay, a resident of Wanihama Bala has been involved in dealing with drugs and selling of same to the local youth of the area.

“Acting Swiftly, on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar-IPS, the Police Party led by I/C PP Nagbal started monitoring him and finally conducted a raid at his house. During the search, contraband substance (approximately 3 kgs dry cannabis with seeds) which was kept hidden in a pit yard of his residential house at Wanihama Bala was recovered and seized and later the accused was arrested on the spot (sic),” said the police in a statement.

Meanwhile, a case FIR No. 330/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Ganderbal and further investigation was taken up.
