Sensex zooms over 1000 pts

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Monday posted a massive gains of 1026 pts at 68,507.25, a new high in opening session, following BJP’s better than expected performance in recent assembly elections.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 311 pts at 20,578.90.

The stocks include Bankex, Realty, Technology were seen strong in early trade.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 68,557.82 and 68,274.47 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 20,602.50 and 20,507.75 pts respectively.

The Mid Cap gained 0.92 pc and Small Cap by 0.90 pc.

The gainers were ICICI Bank by 2.93 pc to Rs 974.05, NTPC by 2.88 pc to Rs 276.80, SBI by 2.65 pc to Rs 587, L& T by 2.57 pc to Rs 3272 and M& M by 2.59 pc to Rs 1668.90.
