Army holds job fair in J&K’s Uri

Srinagar, Dec 2 :  The Pir Panjal Brigade of Army’s Dagger Division conducted a two day job fair at Boniyar in Baramulla district of J&K which concluded on Saturday.

The job fair held at Chinar Nau Jawan Club, Boniyar, was aimed at providing a common platform to the local youth seeking employment avenues and the employers.

The job fair fulfilled the aim by attracting nearly 2500 youth of J & K for nearly 750 job vacancies, Army said.

The job fair was organized in close cooperation with the Directorate of Employment, J & K.

The job fair brought together employers from the Union Territory and outside, allowing the candidate to seek jobs in different intuitional sectors like Agriculture and farming, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Handlooms.

“The job fair also was successful in providing information on various institutional schemes aimed at generating self – employment and the financial aid schemes available,” an Army official said.

Many other private concerns also participated in the job fair, providing employment avenues to both the skilled and un-skilled individuals. Online interview were also conducted by various employers at the site using the facility of the newly created IT Lab.

Distribution of appointment letters, Corporate Social Responsibility donations for Vocational Training Centres and awarding of Technical qualifications were some of the high points in the highly successful event.

The job fair is the latest step by the Indian Army in its holistic approach in fostering economic growth in the area and further strengthening the harmonious bond with the local population.
