Srinagar: Renowned Bollywood Director and Cinematographer, S. Kumar on Friday expressed his thoughts to present the authentic picture of Srinagar, also known as Paradise on Earth, to a global audience through the captivating film, ‘Aman-i-Kashmir.’ This project aims to create an emotional connection and win the hearts of viewers worldwide.
In an exclusive interview with Rashid Rahil Editor-In-Chief of Asian Mail Newspaper S. Kumar said “In the past, Kashmir was a popular destination for film shooting. Almost 8 out of 10 films were shot here. Even I was part of many films in the past. Unfortunately, there was a break in this relationship, and the shooting of films in Kashmir stopped.”

He further mentioned, “This film is being produced by Alaika Films. Initially, I was a bit skeptical about setting a date, due to my concerns about Kashmir. But after being here, I realised that Kashmir has changed. The portrayal of fear and unrest does not align with the reality I experienced while being in Kashmir.”
Director S. Kumar said that while staying in Kashmir I had an idea of showcasing the true beauty of Kashmir to the entire world through a commercial feature film.
“I put a lot of effort into finding the perfect title that would capture the essence of Kashmir.”
He said, ‘Aman-e-Kashmir’ is an effort through the real image and essence of this heavenly place Kashmir will be showcased.

“Since childhood, we’ve always heard that Kashmir is a paradise on earth, through this film we want to show everyone why Kashmir is indeed a paradise and what makes it so special.”

Director S. Kumar said Alaika Films is not only making this film in Kashmir but also building a production house, creating new job opportunities for the locals. The film stars Rajveer, Tanu Shri, Aran Bakshi, Surendra Pal, and Ali Khan. The main characters will not be disclosed as of now, but in January 2024 film shooting will kick off in the valley. He also said the shooting of the film will take place in undiscovered places in Kashmir, giving them the spotlight they deserve.
Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, released a new film policy in 2021. The main aim of this policy is to promote film shooting in Kashmir and make it a filmmaker-friendly destination once again.
