Sensex improves 70 points

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Friday recovered 70.15 points at 66,087.56 as almost all the stocks were in green in early trade.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 25.35 points to 19,827.35.

The NSE posted intraday highs and lows at 19,832.85 and 19,809.10 pts respectively.

The Sensex registered intraday highs and lows at 66,101.64 and 65,983.79 pts respectively.

The midcap gained 0.37 pc and the smallcap gained 0.54 pc.

In 30 scrips, 16 advanced while 14 declined.

NTPC gained 0.67 percent to Rs 254.40, M&M gained 0.59 percent to Rs 1555, Sun Pharma gained 0.40 percent to Rs 1203.45, HDFC Bank gained 0.39 percent to Rs 1527.64, and Ultracemco gained 0.40 percent to Rs 1203.45pc to Rs 8641.45.

The losers were HCL Technologies, which fell by 0.50 pc to Rs 1322.55, TCS, which fell by 0.39 pc to Rs 3495.20, Tata Motors, which fell by 0.30 pc to Rs 677.80, and ITC, which fell by 0.23 pc to Rs 920.95.
