6.7-magnitude quake hits Vanuatu Islands

Suva: An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 jolted 98 km East of Port-Olry, Vanuatu, at 15:47 local time (0447 GMT) on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 22.5 km, was determined to be at 14.985 degrees south latitude and 167.983 degrees east longitude.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center did not immediately issue a tsunami warning based on the quake.
